Looking for a way to give back, meet and connect with peers, develop news skills and interests? Consider volunteering for the Ottawa Region Rewards Association (ORRA). Volunteering is a great opportunity to expand your personal network of total rewards professionals and to be a champion for advancing the profession.
Time commitments are flexible and vary depending on the program you choose to get involved with. You can choose to help out at an event (planning or working at a registration desk), get involved at the program or planning level, or take on a full leadership role for the organization.
It’s simple. Get in touch with one of our board members to discuss the opportunity over a coffee.
Being a volunteer member of an HR association like ORRA earns you credits toward HRPA recertification.
Do you have an interest in joining the ORRA Board of Directors? Ask yourself these questions:
There is no question that being a member of the board brings great personal value — expanding your network raising your professional profile, and building your leadership and project management skills.
To become a member of ORRA’s Board of Directors, you must be an active member of the association (if not already a member, must become a member within 10 days of appointment) and be at least 18 years old.
Board elections are held annually at the ORRA annual general meeting every March. Available positions are advertised by the current Board. Candidates are identified and their names are shared with the membership. At least two-thirds of members must vote for each board member.
